The splash screen says Bethesda Softworks and when I press CTRL-V during play it tells me that this is version 1.2 and yet I have just killed Gizmo but been rewarded with -2 reputation for killing Killian (his corpse is on Gizmo's floor somehow) while Killian (reanimated and back at work with a zest) pats me on the back, calls me a friend of the town and gives me 500 caps. Meanwhile Lars tells me I'm no longer welcome in Junktown for killing his boss but that I should visit said recently deceased gentleman if I'm in need of a job.

It is clear to see the great minds at Interplay didn't form Troika just to hone their talents as notorious buglords. They were getting practice in much earlier! I can't believe I somehow managed to complete this game back in 1999, nor can I believe it has seen two launches on Gog.com now and neither seem to have the unofficial patches installed as you get with the likes of Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale. That really should be fixed :/

I'm in two minds whether to read all 17 pages of the stickied patch thread and try not to break the game by fixing it or just to head over to the Beamdog forums and hound them to remake the game like everyone else is. But they'll just turn Dogmeat in to a hermaphrodite or something and add a quest to help get him/her accepted in a genderless dog competition!

I just wanna kill super muties with no bugs :(
