Hello to everyone. First, excuse me for writing a new post about this, but I didn't want to deviate the topic itself.
My problem is that when I installed Fallout in my machine (Medion Akoya Mini E1210 with Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron) with Wine 1.0), it went all smooth and I could run the game. But, after restarting my computer, when I try to play the game, it says that I need at least a hard drive of 20Mb to start the game.
Does anyone know any issue like this? Have I set up wrong Wine?
Thanks in advance.

Not to be snarky but, you might not have a lot of luck here. GoG is great and all but, they only promised to improve compatibility with XP/Vista. Running these old games on a Linux OS using a compatibility layer (that doesn't have every bit of the Windows API fully implemented) was never what was intended.
I'd suggest you you ask for help on the Ubuntu forums and check the AppDB at WineHQ. (www.winehq.org)

I am running it under Wine 1.14 with OpenSUSE 11 and it is running perfectly. I am imagining that allot of Linux users will want to use this service. I am really excited about this product with my netbook.

Hey bud, I'm having the same problem with Ubuntu 8.04 and the default wine. Fallout was working until I deleted ~/.wine and reinstalled it. Now I get the 20meg free needed error too.
I'll let you know how I go.

Use winecfg to set the Windows version to Windows 98 for the Fallout executable, falloutw.exe
From a terminal, run dialog or Applications menu, start winecfg
Click Add application...
Navigate to: Program FilesGOG.comFalloutfalloutw.exe
Then select Windows 98 from the windows version at the bottom of that window.
Click Ok.

There might also be an issue with the BINK movies during the game ending. I had a similar issue with Fallout2 and Redhat back when Interplay was still around - although wine wasn't nearly as "compatible" as it is now.
You could always try dual-booting XP and *nix. Good luck.
