Hi. I was just looking through rpg games and I though " Maybe I will buy Fallout 2 " . So I typed Fallout and search says... no match. Why there is no Fallout? Was it took down or what?
Yes - http://www.gog.com/news/removed_from_catalog_fallout_1_2_tactics
Thanks for help. I read this link but I can't see any reason why this happened. Any idea? Now I feel sad :-/

Interplay doesn't have the rights anymore, they now belong to Bethesda.

Unfortunately, all digital distribution of Fallout ceased at the start of the new year. Bethesda has said that they will return the games to Steam but when that will actually happen remains to be seen. Your best bet to get Fallout or Fallout 2 in the mean time is to find the Fallout Trilogy disk.
The trilogy CD is really cheap. I think it cost me something between £5 and £10 (this was a few years ago), it's still dirt cheap so I'd recommend everyone pick up a copy!
Despite the fact the games are gone from digital stores, Interplay is still selling the boxed DVD trilogy sets until the stock is gone. Best Buy in Jackson MI where I live had 4 copies for $19.99 each still. Same goes for Walmart which had 3 and Target had 1.

Not sure if that's the best deal or what, probably not. Shouldn't break the bank anyway.

That is a good deal considering the digital releases were 5.99 each, and the trilogy at retail shops are $20 for the set.

It has mods that you can choose to install I believe as well. This is the version I have.

So yeah, make sure you don't get the one with the yellow theme if you want the unedited version that GOG never had. =D
I'm pretty sure Bethseda removed F1 / F2 from Steam because they want to remove Interplay Logo at game start and put their own instead.

Haha seriously. Future generations will probably think Bethesda developed the classics.

Tj,

To be frank, there's nothing we can do about it.
I don't know the contract details, but I can only assume they will add their logo next to the Interplay one. You know - developer / publisher thing, unless I was right and they will remove it completely.

Anyway, I'm glad I got it ages ago from GOG and I still got the original discs. :)

and this message board will have them all convinced Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader run the company.

Bethesda/Zenimax are not metaphysically evil, no.

They're closer to being the Thomas Kinkade of games, which is plenty bad enough:
