Curious as to what other restrictions some people place on themselves. I generally mod my games to make it a bit more challenging, and to increase role playing options. There are a few things that mods don't do well though. For example, weapons and ammo. I generally carry a small selection of weapons that I feel a person would carry comfortably. Generally that means for weapons, all I have is small melee weapon (like a knife), 1 or 2 pistols, and a either a shotgun or rifle. If I'm carrying something like a minigun (rare), that's the only ranged weapon I carry. Then I further limit myself by carrying between 3-5 full reloads for each weapon. That restriction makes combat a bit more tactical and challenging (I stay out of ghoul-infested sewers). Same thing with looting, I don't generally pick something up unless I have a need for it.
Chems are another thing I limit myself on. Carry no more than 2 of each, and I only take them before or after I get involved in combat. Unless I'm playing an addict, which then I keep as much of whatever it is on hand and take them regularly. What restrictions (if any) do you place on yourselves to make the game more challenging?
