Has anyone ever tried playing this game Iron Man style (i.e. no reloads)? I realize that with the way the critical hit system is this would probably be much more difficult than many other RPGs but with the game's harsh environment I feel as though it would be much more immersive as well.

Wondering if anyone would be interested in trying either game Iron Man style and posting their thoughts and results here.
*SPOILER! SNAPE KILLS TRINITY WITH ROSEBUD!*
How best to achieve this?
The easiest thing to do, I imagine, would be to avoid nearly all combat whatsoever. Top out Stealth as early as possible, miss out on a number of important or intriguing quests, etc.
Random encounters are still a problem. I don't think I've ever successfully crept away from a fight with humans or supermutants.
Would the Stealth/high AC method be better in Fallout 1, or 2? 1, perhaps, because of a coding error which makes AP bullets equivalent to FMJ bullets.

How much Science is needed with your hideous levels of Stealth in order to destroy the vats in the basement of the Mariposa Military Base?
Iron man style is possible, one segment speedruns have been made for both FO1 and FO2.

Interesting would be an iron man attempt which doesn't use preknowledge.

The critical hit system isn't as dangerous as it looks, only 5 percent of enemy hits are criticals and not all criticals are deadly, one fifth of the criticals does only 50 percent extra damage and doesn't ignore armor for example.

If you don't make a wimpy character with low endurance there aren't many monsters who can kill you with one single critical.

Even less of them will attack you before you can disable them, they first have to hit you with their attack roll to get a roll with a critical chance of about 5 percent and then they have to get a good roll on the critical hit table.

Maxing out Outdoorsmanship in Fallout 1 is easier than in Fallout 2. Very, very handy in 2, though, as at its best it must make it quite difficult for Enclave troops to get the drop on you.
(Hypothetically: Or for Brotherhood of Steel troops to get the drop on you either.)
