I was just wondering if there were any patches you would recommend.

If you are new to the games and are just looking for bug-fixing patches, I personally recommend getting the Unofficial patches and HiRes patches. The HiRes patches make the games look beautiful on modern computers and the Unofficial patches just fix the bugs and change nothing in term of plot, quests, items and areas, keeping the games as true to the originals as possible. The children patches are optional, they are just for UK versions.

These patches can be found in our resident stickies or at NMA Nuclear Downloads sections for FO1 and FO2.
