Since it's broken in GOG's version of New Vegas, I'd like it if someone here could try Fallout 3 GOTY on WinXP 32bit SP3.

My retail runs like a charm but after my problems with New Vegas yesterday (ended up rather running in Linux than in WinXP), I'm cautious.

Still works as intended on WinXP.

Did your Fallout 3 GOTY Edition come from GOG or Steam?

If from GOG, what is the file version of your F3 GOTY from GOG?

Did it run in XP without any patches from NexusMods?

The Steam version keeps bombing out when launching a New Game.

Which graphics card are you running this game on?

First time trying to play Fallout 3 GOTY. After letting it load all night, I'm finally attempting to play. (Laptop win 10) and it keeps returning me to my desktop every time I try to start a new game. Is there something I can do to get it to actually let me play or do I start bugging GOG for a refund for a defective game?

Next time, try posting in a relevant thread or create a new one.
The game does not like integrated graphics at all but there is a mod to bypass that. Are you running it on integrated graphics?
The game needs DX9; download that from Microsoft's website and install it. Windows 10 comes with DX12 that does not support all features in DX9.
I forgot if GOG added a fix for the problem the game has with modern processors, otherwise you will need that.

...and so on and so forth... there are a bunch of threads about how to solve the problems with the Fallout games as they are quite problematic, no matter where they were bought from.
