One of my best friends gifted Fallout 3 to me over GoG due to it being my preferred platform.
But every time I tried to launch it? I get a black screen. It crashes, and just nothing. I reinstalled and so on.
It tries to go. "This app cannot run because it causes security issues."
I tried messing with resolution, I tried messing with the Mods on Vortex, like the script extender, nothing.
I tried going through the game director and using. "Fallout 3.exe" and nothing works for me.
I tried launching with stuff disabled as well... nothing. I'm a bit demoralized.
My computer isn't the issue either. Game is installed on a SSD as well as the Vortex and what not.
I have a RTX GeForce 3050OEM and 32GB of RAM on a 2560x1440p monitor. I tried changing resolutions in the launcher and that didn't work either. Yes, it is a Windows 11.
Any and all help would be appreciated.
UPDATE: So, the solution was simple. 4GB Patch and the one that gives forward compatibility with multiple thread compatibilities. You will not need to run compatibility mode. I had to figure it out by myself.
I hope this can be somewhat helpful, because I know I'm not the only one with that issue.
