I updated GOG Galaxy. And now Fallout 3 constantly crashes as soon as I do any action as walking through a door or initiating V.A.T.S.
I restarted the game, I tried older savegames, I restarted GOG Galaxy, nothing helps!
Please help!

It's frustrating. It also happens whren using the Pip-Boy.
I looked forward to play this evening the whole day. :-(

Ok. Starting the Fallout3.exe instead of starting in GOG Galaxy solved my problem.
So there is some issue with GOG Galaxy, I assume.
I have the same problem with New Vegas. Every time I open a door or try to speak with someone the game crashes.

Starting the NewVegas.exe directly works for me.
try disable the overlay of gog and start from launcher,It should be fine
Having the same issue here. I'm new to this and don't mean to sound stupid but how do i disable the GOG overlay?
Yeah, after the latest GOG update, I had the same problem with the Fallout 3 crashing as soon as I tried to open a door etc - going to game folder (via More > Manage Installation > Show Folder) and entering that way seems to avoid the problem.

right mouse button on fallout 3 (on the left)go to setting/configuration on in-game overlay disable the check.

Thanks. I found it. Unfortunately, it hasn't changed anything.
I have tried all of these suggestions and am having no luck. Having issues with both Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Fallout New Vegas and it still continues to crash everytime I try to do anything other then walk. If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it. Getting pretty frustrated.

Thank you for taking the time to help. I did an uninstall/reinstall with Fallout New Vegas. After I restarted my computer it all worked fine. This morning, I did a verify/repair with Fallout 3 and now it's working fine. I did disable the GOG overlay with both games. Again, Thank you!
Yeah had the same issue with pip boy crash after GOG Galaxy update.
Event log shows GOG.com\Galaxy\redists\overlay\injected\proxydinput_Win32_Release.dll as faulting module.
I turning off the GOG overlay and it now running OK again.
Yes, disabling GoG overlay fixed problem for me.

I can't find it. Maybe because of the German menu.
What exactly does it mean, what does "GoG overlay" do?

Look for small circle tab left corner of screen called GOG Galaxy- it's small circle. Click on it and look for Settings option, then Features, look for Overlay then tick it off.
