I see loads of tutorials telling me to get the Intel cpu patch to make fallout3 run but I'm an AMD ryzen guy. I've got Vortex and a nexus account and have successfully beaten and modded NV already so I know basically how to install mods just curious if there is an AMD version of the patcher to help fallout3 not crash
DXVK. It converts DirectX to Vulkan calls, so it will use Vulkan Drivers instead of poorly supported DX9 drivers.

It helps AMD and Intel GPUs in a lot of old games.

I did this to play FO3 and FNV (on Intel but I've see it helps AMD as well).

Download dxvk-2.1.tar.gz from https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases/
(Probably newer version now, but this was the one I used).

Extract d3d9.dll, from the x32 directory, and place in your main FO3/FNV directory where your .exe files are.

Note you need 7zip (or similar) to extract the file from the .tar.gz archive.

https://7-zip.org

That's it. Launch as normal.

There is a newer version (and a fork) it's https://gitlab.com/Ph42oN/dxvk-gplasync/-/tree/main/releases (latest version is 2.4.1-1)
