Hello,
first of all - yes, I have used the forum search. Maybe someone can provide further help.
I freshly installed Fallout 1, the new version, not the classic one, as I plan to play it in the future. Yet the game, the intro movies and the mouse coursor are lagging/stuttering making it unplayable. I am not using mods.
I am running:
Windows 10 64bit, all updates
Pentium G4560, RX 470 with latest drivers (17.5.1), 8 GB RAM, the game is installed on a SSD (C/GOG Games).
What I tried so far:
Deleting/renaming/moving ddraw.dll
Switching off VSync in the graphics drivers
Running the game as administrator/using the different compability modes
Trying the Fallout 1 fixt pack (purist version) from nma
Using different in-game resolutions, bit values etc.
Using the fo1_refresher tool
Everything was to no avail.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
EDIT: I strangely solved the issue for myself, at least for now. I used the compability mode for Windows 7 and checked "Deactivate fullscreen optimizations". The ddraw.dll is deleted. Now, the lagging intros and gameplay are gone. However, installing the Fixt-pack returned those problems, thus I am sticking to the vanilla gog version.
