It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

matthewmw64: I'm using an 8600GT myself.
Anyway, which version do I DL? I seem to have tried both, but neither work.
EDIT: Now, every time I go to open fallout, it says I need a different version of Windows. I;m running Vista 32-bit, perhaps that the problem?

.
According to the site it should work on Vista, this is a copy'n'paste of the full line:
Fallout 1 v1.2 US (v1.18e, windows 2000/xp/vista)
I do use XP myself though, so maybe it doesn't work with Vista, but since the site claims it should I'd expect it to work under it...

Serian: Does the order the patches are applied matter? I also noticed that the game is already at version 1.2, probably because it is the European version and not the US, so if I go to 1.3.3 and want to add the children in what is the correct way to do it?

For these patches it doesn't matter much, since all the children patch does is place back a bunch of sprites without editing much else (at least, this is the case for Fallout 2, and I think for Fallout 1 as well)

phanboy4: The ammo patch alters the game mechanics, I believe, so you might want to try the game without it first. The second patch is sort of an "alternate" patch to the 1.3.3 patch. For best results I suggest you pick one or the other, but not both.
I personally use the 1.3.3 Team X patch fro my playthoughs, so I can recommend it.

What NMA recommends is TeamX 1.3.4 (they updated recently) for Fallout and killap's unofficial patch for Fallout 2. Others are often outdated or add material/change mechanics.

Rainstorm: What kind of graphics card do you use BTW?
I have an ATi 2600 XT myself, was thinking that if it's something that just happens with this and the other chips in that series it could be good to make a thread about it, like "ATi 2x00 owners, read this"...

Oh man seriously, you get the blackouts on an ATI chip? Because we always tagged this "the nVidia problem" because it seemed to be happening mostly with nVidia cards.

Yeah, seems like it appears now, I didn't get it on the x1800 GTO I had before this and not on the 9600 Pro I had before that, the installation of the OS is fairly new too, so I don't think any lingering stuff can be the problem either. (but, maybe I got some "nice add-on" with some program I've installed...)
Considering the sound the fan on the card makes now and then I'll prob. have to upgrade as soon as I can afford though, so maybe a newer gen. card fixes it. (since I'll stick to ATi, as a matter of fact it was FO that made me stick with ATi since it looked so much better on my Radeon than it did on the GeForce MX I had before it :) I doubt the difference in 2D is that big between the two nowadays though, but my ATi cards have served me well, so...)

I noticed for the children patch there is a new executable. I renamed the original and put the one for the patch in the game directy and when the game exits everything seems to slow down for a bit (mouse movement in Windows etc). I'm not sure if this is normal. Do I need to use the new executable?
For the mod that allows playing past the point where you win, what is the CD Temp folder for?
