can anyone help me fix this or uninstall the patch?

I had the same problem yesterday, apparently the installation of the unofficial patch corrupts the save files. Maybe someone knows more about this issue. I reinstalled and decided to play without the patch for the time being.

all the patches are incompatible with old save games, you will be unable to load any save games from any previous versions regardless of the patch being official or unofficial.
my suggestion, retrieve the save, uninstall fallout 2 completely, reinstall fallout and then move your save into the folder.
Otherwise use a save game editor.

I don't know if you can uninstall the patch. You can either start a new game or backup your saves and reinstall the game.
