Hi, I am having quite a basic problem with fallout 1, I cannot get past the menu screen. Basically my mouse clicks are not recognised e.g I can hover the pointer over the "new game" or "load game" buttons, but when i click on them nothing happens.
The PC I am using is a Dell Duo laptop. The weird thing is that I am sure I have had fallout running on this laptop without problems in the past. I use it rarely, and it is as if something has changed in system settings since I last had fallout working that is preventing it from running now.
The machine is dual booted, with Windows 8 developer preview installed in another partition. The game seems to work ok in widows 8 developer mode, e.g I can select the buttons. However I cannot select my save game! I think it might be a permissions issue?
Here is part of the DXdiag report. hopefully someone can recognise the problem (anything to do with resolution?):
