Hello everybody,
I installed Fallout 2 on my Laptop (2,13Ghz Pentium M with 2Gb of RAM and an ATI X800 chipset running WinXP Pro SP3) and when I try to launch the game nothing happens. I see the Fallout2 process in the Task-Manger and that's all.
I also tried to install Killap's Unofficial Fallout 2 Patch and change the ddraw.ini to use windowed mode. Except showing an empty 640x480 window after starting fallout2.exe there's still nothing.
I hope someone can help me out.
Thanks in advance,
Chris
edit: Renaming the fallout2.exe to anything else solved the problem, don't ask me why...

THANK YOU FOR POSTING THE SOLUTION!
I did not suffer, but I know there will be others who may, and this may very well solve their issue.
you're welcome :)
I had the same issue on my second machine. I just don't get why renaming should help, but still it does :D
