[SOLUTION FOUND]

This is if you want to oscillate between a GOG version of Fallout 4/Fallout London, and a Steam version of your original Fallout 4.

In another post here I saw a user say to change the name of the old Fallout4Prefs file in your C:/Users/[Your Computer Name]/Documents/My Games/Fallout 4 folder. I also was worried about my old Fallout 4 Steam Saves, so I changed that folder name too (it's in the same location as the Prefs file). So I changed the old Saves folder to SavesSTEAM and the old Fallout4Prefs file to Fallout4PrefsSTEAM.

Then the GOG installer let me install Fallout London. When it does so, it creates a new Saves folder and a new Fallout4Prefs file in the same location.

If you want to go back to your Steam version of Fallout 4, go back to the same location and change the new Fallout4Prefs file and Saves folder to something like Fallout4PrefsFOLON and SavesFOLON (whatever you want, so it saves your GOG Fallout London set up and saves). Then change the old STEAM versions back to just Fallout4Prefs and Saves and load up your Steam version.

"It just works" ;)

No but seriously I double checked and both versions loaded up and ran fine with all my settings and saves.

If you had the problem I had below try out my solution above, but don't hold me accountable if you mess up, do it at your own peril. I tried to be as clear as I can with the instructions that worked for me. (Windows 10 btw)

[ORIGINAL POST BELOW]

I already have Fallout 4 GOTY through Steam installed on my D drive.
But I didn't want to mess with that.
So I bought and installed Fallout 4 GOTY through GOG onto my C drive.
Then I downloaded Fallout London through GOG.

I go to play Fallout London and it asks me to install it, and it says it's going to try to install it in the F4 GOG folder, but instead is trying to install it in my Documents/My Games folder, and access is denied.

(see attached image)

In addition, when I run the Fallout 4 GOTY GOG version through GOG Galaxy, the game is seeing my Fallout 4 GOTY Steam version saves, even though my Steam version is installed on my D drive and my GOG version is installed on my C drive. Why is the GOG version reading my Steam saves and trying to install it though a different path than it says it's going to in the installer. Again, refer to the attached image.

When I try to change the install path nothing changes and I don't want to mess up my Steam saves somehow.

Please help!
