Assuming you are using Galaxy, it will automatically detect the update and install it. If not, try relaunching GOG Galaxy and see if that kicks it off (check you have the game set to automatically update as well, which it should be by default)
thank you. i dont use galaxy.

Usually you log into the homepage at GOG and navigate to your games. If you select Everspace 2 from your games, you can find a download link for the most recent offline installation package. We can't update the offline installer on our own, but need to rely on GOGs help. I've just checked and the old one (v0.4.16.214) is still active.

I am going to ask if the update slipped their attention (just to be sure), but I assume that it is on their list and will be live this evening.

Best regards,
Ingmar

PS: You can download the offline installer using the GOG client as well (see: Games > Everspace 2 > Extras)

thanks mate. i'll be waiting for an updated installer. i bought the game on GOG specifically to avoid using yet another client.
I, as part of the community of Everspace 2, am proud!

For this patch you can see and feel that you are taking your games community serious, and you are improving the gameplay for the issues reported by users / players.

That is refreshing and nice, I thank you for that!

In your patch notes you took on the challenge to fix the issues reported by players, rebalance and fix what stuck out the most and have clear and open priorities about it.

Please keep up the good work! The popularity of this game depends on it. And reading the patch notes I have the feeling you have an understanding of that.

edit**:

I have some issues with the combination of the following items after I played the last patch version a bit:

Reduced Gauss Cannon spread
Reduced Scout Weapon Range expertise bonus

-> I know from a viewpoint of a developer it makes sense to limit its players "grip" into a game issue by limiting the usability of the item that causes issues. But in my opinion you way overdid this! To a point where the scout expertise perk is not usable any more at all. And since this perk is the scouts main perk for using the ship, I think you just made the first big mistake by discouraging players of the usage of one of your gameplay elements (in which you invested time and money developing it), the scout ship. Ouch! Did I praise you too early?
From what I understand, some people have the patch available, and some don't? (I sure don't)
Does GoG have a per-country limit or something like that? It sure seems weird.

yes, still no update available for me.
It could be that backers get pre-patch versions to test the patches. I am a backer and received the update since announcement here. 16GB patch, so practically the whole game.

Did you try to manually (turn it off and on again? No, wait...) ask in gog launcher for a new version?

I'm not using the gog launcher (thanks gog for shitting on linux users), but the website itself only has the old version.. And if it's a backer-only thing, I don't see why steam users would all get it, but gog users wouldn't.

This is the kind of issues that prevent GoG from being the best market out there, and it's a bit sad. Buying on GoG thinking "I encourage good mentalities" and then being disrespected and disadvantaged in comparison to users of other platforms is quite annoying.
