Enemy rockets are not as fun as they were in the first game.
I can't get a lock on and I cannot hit them. I target just the rocket and 100% of my shots miss every time. What is the triangle around them good for? Like I'm supposed to shoot in the general direction and not have a hope of ever landing a hit?
This has nothing to do with aim. It has to do with the guns themselves because most simply can't lock onto anything.
I also find rockets to be slow and have such a limited range. I can easily move out of their path or out of range. I don't want to do that, I would rather shoot them down.
This same reason also makes Vipers an annoying enemy to face. If it's impossible to shoot the rockets coming at you then what's the point? If I'm in the middle of battle I don't want to have to worry about something I can't shoot.
Either this is still early game mechanics, or if not I consider it a bug.

Hey cmba,

Thanks for your feedback! We are always reevaluating the balancing of certain aspects of the game.
Please note that not being able to lock on missiles has been an intentional design decision since the original Everspace though (for many many reasons). It is literally still the same mechanics with carefully tweaked values to account for greater distances. (And the diamond shape now being triangular).

But there is ONE thing that has changed, but we are planning to reintroduce this:
In both games you get a significant aim assist to bring missiles down. In ES1 though, your cross hair went from white to red if you had a guaranteed hit chance. ES2 doesn't have this at the moment, but I think once we have it back in place, this will basically solve all the issues you pointed out here.

Best regards,
Ingmar
