Hey,

I have just bought Eschalon Books I & II and having booted both up, found I have a problem that I don't seem to be able to fix!

The sprites on the screen move around at light speed. I've encountered the problem before in other games, typically older ones, but never in one as recent as the mid 00s. An exaple is when I move around, the PC will get from on end of the screen to the other in under a second.

I tried changing from DX to OpenGL, but this did nothing. So I tried windowed mode, which fixed the issue. Unfortunately, the screen on windowed mode is fixed and far too small to really see enough to enjoy the game.

I tried looking for some kind of .ini to see if I can manually alter the windowed screen size to at least 800x600, or even 1024x768, but there's no game file to be found.

Anyone else encountered this, as the net seems silent on this issue... Any mods/patched that fix it would be most appreciated :).

Gareque

Try forcing V-sync via GPU control panel/center.

That worked perfectly, thank you very much :)

You're welcome. :)
At first I thought, Wow, putting points into speed really does have an effect! I hadn't noticed that the whole game was going fast. I tried the Vsync thing, which worked, but then I realized I like it faster! If I need precision I can just click once, but it's actually nice to be able to speed along when I feel like it. The "normal" way is just a bit too slow.
