i have questtion about this GOG version. Is there working lan multiplayer, or is multiplayer complete unavailable ? Thank you. This is really awesome game.

Yes, LAN is possible, and online play is also possible.
Download gameranger and you can host or join games !

If you just want to play lan with a friend, one of you must host a room, and the other must connect to him by inputing his ip address (make sure to enter the PUBLIC ip address and not the PRIVATE one else it will not work!)

You can use websites online to see what your public ip address is.

tried using game ranger and ip but says someone else is using my cd key. bought the game from gog and im not sure what to do.

Try this, it worked for me:
-If you get an error message concerning an invalid GameSpy Key it means that 2 players have the same key. You will have to change it.
For that, go to regedit, and navigate to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SSSI\Empires (click on Empires folder)
-On the right side, find the file "GameSpy Key".
-Change ONE number to another one.
-Generate a new key using the Deviance Keygen I provided in the topic called « 4 language pack release »
-Launch empires and insert a new cd key
-No more problem

there is lan multiplayer yes but, each player needs their own gog license(i think). the gog uses a cd-key system to bypass securerom and without a gog cd-key, the game will not even run(if you are using windows 10). i have tried it. first i tried to change my cd-key in the registry but, then it did not start and then i tried the cd-key from my disc version and i got the sane problem.
