So I decided to buy Empire Earth from here, and when I start it up (or the expansion) during the few opening movies before getting to the main menu, my monitor has a message over the top of it saying 'Signal out of range. Set monitor to: 1024x768 60Hz'. After skipping the movies it goes away and I can go through everything else with no problem. It seems as though for the movies the monitor changes resolution and maybe refresh rate to accomodate for them.

I've managed to stop this by checking the 'run in compatibility mode for windows ME/98' but then the mouse is very stuttery ingame which is more of an annoyance.

Any help appreciated.
