Greetings.

Empire Earth 3 installs fine until the Physx part where that installation hangs. The only way to go forward is to close the physx installation and after that the GOG installer says it's installed successfully.
But when I click the start icon it immediately stops and says the generic windows error message "Empire Earth III have stopped working".

Might me having a NVIDIA graphic card be the problem?

I usually don't do this but *Bump*.
Do you already have Physx installed?

If you already have a copy of Physx installed, you don't have to install it again. In fact the Physx installer will probably just "fail" to install it, if you have the option to cancel it, do that and don't let it try to install.

If you don't have Physx installed, you can download it from the Nvidia internet site.

Try this one: http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.13.1220-driver.html

And also this one: http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.13.0604-legacy-driver.html

You'll need them both, one lets older games work. This might be why it's not working for you, you might be needing the legacy driver.

Just some ideas.

I didn't have the Legacy driver so I installed it, rebooted but it didn't help. I'll try reinstalling EE3 and see if that helps.

THIS SOLUTION WORKED! I have windows 8 upgraded to 8.1 and I downloaded from the first PhysX link above. Thanks a lot! I didn't restart or anything, just downloaded, installed, and wala Empire Earth is ALIVE again! Thank you so much!
