in regards to some questions/threads about the perceived quirks of the game, I dug out a note with cheatcodes for the game I once took.
Don't know anymore though, where I have originally found them.

I am still more of a beginner to this game, but I think they might come in handy, when you feel you are at odds with some of the game mechanics or to flatten the learning-curve.

As far as I have tested, they also work in PBEM games, but you opponents will get notified that you cheated.

Go to the Byzantium II screen and there type:
"hdimap" to let you see the full map of the current planet
"hdiview" to let you see the full maps of ALL planets
"hdires" to increase your resources => the first number to enter is the slot of the resource
"hdikash" to increase your money
"hditech" to increase your research points
