Hi everbody
I just read that Enderal SE now officially works with the GOG-version of Skyrim: https://eddoursul.win/changelogs/mod/enderal-se/

I tried to install it, following the "How to install" section here: https://eddoursul.win/mods/enderal-se/#how-to-install

Unfortunately I'm unable to run the total conversion itself. I did the following steps:

1. I installed Skyrim (the Special Edition as recommended)
2. I installed Mod Organizer 2
3. I opened a new instance for Skyrim SE within Mod Organizer 2
4. I downloaded the Enderal-files from the torrent and copied them into the "mods" folder in Mod Organizer 2's own folder
5. I run Skyrim-launcher once
6. I downloaded and unpacked the most recent skse64_loader-files into the Skyrim folder (the one compatible with the GOG version of Skyrim) and run skse64-loader.exe

Unfortunately only Skyrim gets started this way. I also deactivated my virus scanner to avoid its interference but it didn't help.

Has anybody found a way to run Enderal or is there something I did wrong?

By the way: If find this a rather cumbersome way to run Enderal. I'd much prefer as simple installer like it's the case with Nehrim or a solution like with the Steam-version of Skyrim.
Or is there a way to simply copy all the Enderal files into a copy of the Skyrim folder, overwriting files? I'd like a "portable" version where everything is in one folder.

Long version:

GoG Skyrim isn't supported by the current MO2 release. MO2 reads from and writes to a couple of folders in documents/ and appdata/local/ that get created when installing the game, unfortunately, the GoG version uses different folders. So until someone re-compiles the MO2 game_plugin file for Skyrim SE specifically for use with the GoG version, using GoG Skyrim with MO2 is kind of janky, especially if you want to be using both Steam Skyrim and GoG Skyrim at the same time (which for a lot of people makes sense because there's no way to downgrade the GoG version to anything other than the first GoG release, which is the newest version that's not supported by a lot of mods yet, anyway).

Which gets me to the short version:

Using Vortex instead of MO2 should work just fine.

Why did you install the Legendary Edition when the requirements clearly state you need the Special Edition?

Sorry, that was a mistake, I meant the Special Edition (so confusing with all these different editions). Thank you for this information. Ok, then I'll have to try Vortex. It seems rather complcated though. Or maybe I'm just too much of a noob.

edit: No luck so far. Vortex seems indeed to be too complicated and unintuitive for me, I fear. I have no clue of what to do in Vortex. Seems like a real hassle to make this mod run...

Vortex is as simple as installing Vortex, making sure your mod path is where you want it to be, finding the mod on nexus, and downloading and installing it through Vortex.

It's no more complicated than what I know about MO2. It's just different. There's an introduction video when you install Vortex that walks you through the entire process. It's recommended to watch if you are unfamiliar with Nexusmod's installers.

With respect, it's not as much of a hassle as you think it is. It just takes about 10-20 minutes to sit down and figure out how it works.

did you download the GOG-Update-file for MO2? (It`s just a dll)

have you moved the Creation files ?

(couldnt move them in MO2 so I just copied them out of the skyrim folder somewherelse) (8 files)
