I am pack rat of worst kind probably, so I need a lot of storage space. What are the options provided by Daggerfall in this case? From what I've read, house' containers are not safe (but floor is?). Is it possible to use other people' houses as your storage? Will it reset and get lost when area respawns?

Is there bottomless bag glitch like in Morrowind when you keep way too much stuff in one place?

To use a house for storage, you need to buy the house first, which is quite expensive.

A much better choice is to buy a ship. If you are at least level 2, you can take out a loan big enough to buy the smaller ship. I find that a year is plenty of time to get enough money to repay the loan. If you are at least level 4, you can take out a loan big enough to buy the bigger ship.

Note that the smaller ship has an invisible hole in the back that can cause you to fall out-of-bounds, so be careful of that.

Yeah I saw prices on UESP. 300k + upwards? Ohhh...

And do they have cap for storage (hard cap or soft cap - liek with those bags in Morrowind)? And safer to store everything outside containers?

I don't know if there is a cap, however I recommend a ship because you can easily board it from anywhere outside; you don't need to be near a body of water. This also means you don't have to deal with the annoying rule that not only can you not rest outside in town, but even thinking about it (not even getting to the point where you choose how long to rest) gets you arrested; just go to your ship and rest.

I don't remember ships or buyable houses having containers in the first place.

The smaller ship is definitely big enough.

Houses seem to serve as a money sink in this game; something to buy when you have so much money you don't know what to do with them.
Thanks, I will start saving for shop then :)

Inability to fully loot first dungeon makes me slightly upset. Can't carry everything out of it :) It is also interesting how I got increase to Stealth skill just by moving normally, without crouching and something.

Don't forget that you can buy a wagon to store an extra 750 pounds of items, and it is actually affordable early in the game without borrowing money.

I am afraid 750 is close to nothing for me. I am still in starting dungeon on my new character, just got Lv.2, I already have 69 kgs of items (and I had to skip looting some of them...). I started playing Morrowind also, and I already have problems with space after claiming 5 houses at start of the game. i didn't even venture that much far outside first town...

I like how my character looks :)
