As you may know, it is possible to make a spell that allows you to jump over long distances. The problem, of course, is that it is possible to jump so high that it takes a long time to fall, and when you do fall, you take huge amounts of falling damage. Furthermore, it can be difficult to reach a specific spot when doing huge mega-jumps. However, I have found a solution that works:

1. Jump.
2. When above your destination, cast Mark. (I recommend using an item for this, as it is instant-cast; otherwise, the mark may be a bit of a distance from where you start casting the spell.)
3. Now, cast Recall. If you get the spell off before you land, you will teleport to where you cast Mark, except that you will be on the ground. Furthermore, you will not take falling damage.

Hope this helps anyone who wants a fast way to travel long distances while still being able to land precisely.
That's a very cool trick. This tech could improve the best current speedrun times (which rely on Icarian Flight.)
I decided to test Mark and Recall potions, mainly because they might be easier to get in a speedrun than spells and definitely easier than custom enchantments.

It turns out that it does work to do the following:
1. Jump really high
2. When over your destination, open your inventory
3. Drink a Mark potion (don't leave the inventory yes)
4. Drink a Recall potion
5. Leave the menu. You have now landed safely at the place you are over.

Of course, there are downsides to this trick, the most significant being that you lose your previous marked location.

For speedruns, I suspect this might not be useful in Any% (the run is just too short for it to be worth getting the mark and recall potions), but it might be useful for the All Main Quests category.

One other thing worth noting: Casting Almsivi/Divine Intervention mid-air will also prevent falling damage, and can be useful if your destination just happens to be one of the locations the spell takes you.
