Howdy folks, I just bought this game in this weekend's sale, and I now find myself wondering about the wisdom of the purchase. I started the game for the first time, tested the 1440x900x32 resolution, and it gave me a green light. I clicked "OK," and the game started on the lowest resolution, even after I started a mission. When I ran the setup again, I can choose and test a resolution, but clicking "OK" has no effect. The setup window simply closes, but the game doesn't launch. When I launch it from the shortcut, it is still in the lowest resolution.

I'm running Windows XP SP 3, with an NVidia Geforce 8600 GT and an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4800+ with 2 gigs of RAM. Can anyone tell me how to get this game to work properly?

I can't be of much help with this one, I'm afraid, as I'm not sure why it wouldn't be keeping your settings. I can only think maybe it is trying to write the settings to some protected folder based on where you installed the game, but that is usually a Vista/7/8 issue, not an XP one.

This said, Earth 2150 doesn't tend to like higher resolutions anyway as a number of users have tried to play in more modern resolutions only for the game to crash when going into the construction menu (F1), so it may not be advisable to try to get it running at 1440x900 anyway. However, if you do get it running at 1440x900 then go for it, as it is possible, but your mileage may vary. Here are some threads:
