If you don't know what I'm talking about, here's a link to it. It's a webcomic, fantasy and hand drawn. Very well plotted, and one of the few comics I read that isn't about the funny(I don't remember this one ever making me laugh, but the character drama it provides is just beautiful)

Anyway, my friend and I discussed this(He reads the comic, but doesn't play Eador), and we came up with a few similarities between the two settings.

Provinces and Hexes. Units have a limited number of 'Move' per turn. The Leaders of units set the pace, and unit leaders can wield Magic Items and Artifacts that can provide bonuses.

Individual Provinces can have their own guard, but you lose the capital, you lose the game. Better, losing isn't permanent unless they can catch the Sides leader, I.E. attacking you on your home shard.

Now, of course, magic operates differently, though if only Wizards had access to magic, then the game would literally have no balance at all. Still, the similarities are intriguing to me. I do doubt either one was inspired by the other, since they came out so close to each other, and both had to be several months in the making.
As I mentioned earlier, Eador was born almost 20 years ago

Anyway, both Eador and Erforld based on tabletop wargames, like Warhammer. Or, you know, chess... Square hexes(heh), losing leader means losing the game...
