I know they're essentially the same game, but they both have specific technical issues and it's annoying to have to specify which game you're posting about in the topic title, or to click a topic only to find it's discussing the wrong version you were looking for.

I kind of agree with it. With so many issues in MotBW, Genesis thread will just drown and won't be seen.

While that's a good point, it creates more work for the gog people.

It's not that hard for an OP to add (Genesis) or (MotBW) to the title of a post.

It is very annoying as a forum user to have to fully read every post title to determine what game I'm reading about. That's absurdly inefficient.

It works for every other gameseries here on GOG, but it's a problem here because there are so many problems with MotBW and because it was changed after some time where the board was all Genesis. Still I wouldn't hold out hope that they'll divide the boards - much better odds of educating people to use the tags in the title...

There really need to be nested subforums. As in
GOG genral forum
-Series subforum (Eador)
--Series nested subforum (Genesis Technical Issues)

Actually as taltamir says it very much doesn't work on the other boards as I spend a lot of time trying to work out if a post is about Tropico 1,2 or 3. Similarly for Age of Wonders, Fallout, Gothic and so on.

I'd love to see sub forums for all games that are a series and I think it would also help with people asking the same question numerous times (well maybe)
