didn't feel like resurrecting an issue my friends and I encountered years ago when trying to do lan play during one of our meetups


essentially not sure if something was fixed where we kept getting an issue where when selecting lan play we couldn't all connect to each other (assumed something to do with our names all being player.... our assumption is some sort of rudimentary anti-piracy which was pointless due to it apparently being cracked from what i could tell by pirated versions of the game which is what kept coming up when googling lan issues dying light)

well long story short after 3 years i wondered how online play worked then if lan wouldn't work... well found out that if you make your character with gog galaxy it just sets your name to your gog account and it stays that way even for lan when not connected to gog galaxy

essentially... if you will not have have internet where you are going for lan just make sure you make your character ahead of time by logging into your galaxy account, this will assign your name / after that lan play shouldn't have issues (granted this game still seems to take a few mins to find the other pc's connected on the lan)

3 years of not playing a game, when all my friends and I had to do was log into the galaxy client upon character creation in order to proper connect for lan play (slaps forehead)
