Hi,
I recently got the two Ravenloft games out of nostalgia, I used to have them back in the 90's, and played around with them a bit.
I've found some odd/interesting things in Stone Prophet.
1. The ranger/cleric NPC has the odd thing that he gets less exp as a Ranger than a Cleric. He starts with equal amount but when he gains exp, he for some reason gets less in the Ranger class.
2. Quick exp. Man-scorpions give quite a lot of exp. But if you use the "Summon Insects" spell on them, not only is it an effective way to kill them, you can also gets lots more exp. I tested a bit and I could get 4 or 5 times as much exp by killing them this way as opposed to the normal way. It was not always consistent but I started with new characters and after killing a few of them, I had gained about 1-2 levels.
3. The statue in the Sphinx. There is a wish-statue in the Sphinx and you need the calcite cup to use it.
The first three wishes is don't need to drink, immunity to fire and immunity to poison.
The fourth is reported in most walk-throughs as helping a stranger, ie the beggar in the village.
BUT, if you don't talk to the beggar before using the cup, the fourth wish is different.
Instead you get fairly nice gear, a +3 sword, +2 helmet and +2 heavy plate.
The armor and helmet is of a similar style as the Egyptian style light armor you find earlier.
Still I tend to prefer immunity to fire.
Bye.
