You and your full party of heroes saved the kingdom of Ehb from Gom, time and time again. Countless foes have fallen to your sword, picked off far away from your mastery in the bow, and flesh rendered from bone with your skills in magic. Your party of heroes have ventured to other lands and help secure the town stone's in the Utrean Peninsula. Your names are forever written into the history of the world, ballads are sung of your heroic adventures and newborns are named after you.

Even heroes of your caliber fear something.

In the distance you see it approaching, sweat begins to appear on your brow, and then its upon you. A square piece of wood resting on the ground, a lever nearby, and a intricate series of ropes and counterweights, that's right...... elevators.

Just sharing my frustrations. So many times playing I would end up having 1 or 2 members left behind, or on occasions my character will interact with the lever on the other side send the rest of the party off to some location deep below. No problems with the large circular one of course cause everyone fits nicely on those, but those little square ones.....

On the plus side they did fix this issue (mostly) in Dungeon Siege 2.

I didn't like it when it happened to me either in DS1, so I ended up taking special care to load everyone on the elevators before riding it. These days I just solo it with mods, much more fun! lol

What mods do you use? I quite fancy having a go solo, played it through a few times but always with a group. Although I assume when you say it's much more fun I imagine you mean it's so much harder! :D

Here are some mods I've tried, all of them can be found on siegetheday site: All these .ds2res files are basically simple to use, you copy and paste them to the "Resource" folder in the main Dungeon Siege 2 folder and that's it.

ds2_amuletdead - when equiped, allows you to speak to the undead (has txt file with instructions and 2 files) - only using random drop file
ds2_incantations - allows for instant incantations at the incantation locations when chanting (has txt file) - duration increased on speak to dead chant
de4xskills4xexp - chars gain 4x exp per kill and 4 skill points instead of 1 per level up
ds2_worldCameraFix-1.0 - gives better camera zoom in/out and better angles (is a .dsmap file, placed in "Map" folder)
ds2_uberstash-1 - gives you a much larger storage stash (not to be confused with char inventory)
ds2_PetLevels - removes the level restriction for pet growth - ex. Niade (Baby) can be 1st fed at level 36 - with mod, can be fed at any level - it removes the pet level cap also I think - I haven't gotten that far yet
ds2_radarandrespawnmod - mini map zooms out further and monsters respawn if you return to previous area or go far enough and come back
ds2_RenownChance - a flat 15% magic find chance for rare/set/unique (meaning 3 in 20 chances regardless of MF gear)
hardermonstersds2 - gives monsters 3x health, 2x damage and 2x something else I forget
DS2_Exp_Spells_Beta_1 - this one didn't work for me ( possible conflict with another mod); but supposedly shops sell exp spells up to 1000% boost) - going to test this one, wish the author put more details on where the NPC Wraith the Bear can be found

These are mods I haven't tried or decided not to after trying them:

ds2_6slots-1.0 - this mod gives you 6 slots (PC + 5 companions/pets) - by default it's 4 slots (Merc mode), 5 in Vet and 6 in Elite
ds2_partyrun - party can run at 2x or 4x speed (2 files, choose 1 to use)
Ds2_RingRemoval - removes the green ring when selecting charcters
ds2_megaset03 - let's any monster skill drop an entire set (multiple files - choose the set you want, only 1 file can be used at a time)
combattonaturetocombat - let's nature mage used combat spells and combat mages use nature spells (2 files, use the one you want or use both)
ds2_R_Better_Loot - haven't tried it, but supposely gives you tons of rare, set and unique drops
naiadsamesize - keeps your Niade pets at the Baby size even at Maturity

ds2_PetsStorage - gives all pets up to 4 inventory pages (this mod is not compatible with ds2_PetLevels, but compatible with ds2_AllPets&Spells according to author, who created both)
ds2_AllPets&Spells - you can buy any pet or spell at level 1 from the appropriate NPC (spells still have normal level restriction to use) (not compatible with ds2_PetLevels, but compatible with ds2_PetsStorage according to author, who created both)

Don't like using exe files often, so didn't install this one: sounds fun, may try one day (when I work up the nerve to lol)

MF+NewbieBook - haven't tried it, but supposedly gives some nice starting equipment (ber aware this one may be an .exe file, read the txt that comes with it)

Note: Some mods can be placed in the folder at any time, while other have to be placed before you create your character or for some reason they don't take effect or in some cases if you remove one after you create your character, then your character won't show up on the list to continue until you replace it.

P.S. Pet's don't eat into your exp when you kill monsters - good for extra storage, extra distractions and those nice auras they generate.

Many thanks for the comprehensive list, will definitely try some of them out on my next DS2 playthrough.

You're welcome. I should also reiterate that most do come with a .txt file that explains the install / uninstall process. I wish I knew how to make these mods so I could just combine all into 1 or 2 files to avoid compatibility issues lol.

But I can at least give you the assurance that none have messed up my computer. That's a big plus in my book! :)
