Just an FYI for anyone who stumbles upon this.
The unique items in the DLC scale and drop at a level, equal to your character level when they drop/you buy them. Meaning that you should probably do it only after you hit the level cap (which is 35). The DLC has some of the best items in the game, but I made the mistake of going there too soon and only just now found that out, when I'm about to wrap it up... So I got versions of the items 5-10 levels weaker than what they should have been at the level cap.....
Due to the aggressive level scaling in the entire game (also introduced by the DLC, enemy levels were static before), this means that all the unique items I gathered in the DLC are going to be replaced by random magic trash items 5 levels later. Especially dumb, because even at the DLC merchants, the items will scale until the moment you buy them. So you are actively discouraged from buying them before hitting the level cap. This is the only area in the game where uniques behave like that (match your level when you pick them up), so just keep that in mind. Honestly considering loading a save before the DLC and doing it all over :/
So just do the DLC at level cap, or as close to it as possible, if you want the uniques from it at full power. The best point would probably be after the 2 main quests you get in Stonebridge.
