Hi guys,

I just finished the first Dungeon Siege game and what an epic journey! But what bothers me is the "ending" if you can call that. After defeating Gom he dropped some loot but before I even had time to review it the game just throws me back to the main menu. No ending cutscene, no credits, nothing. It almost feels like the game crashed. Now is this intentional? Why even bother giving you some loot if the game just throws you back to the main menu?

Mine does this as well, and I think the original I played 15+ years ago did it as well. You can get the loot though- before you kill him, ensure you have quite a lot of space in your inventory (throw away all those potions) Once he dies, hit Z and you should have time to auto pick everything up before the game ends.

I found out that there is a fan patch that re-enables the ending and let you import your character from the campaign to the multiplayer mode. But it is still unbelievable that they sell a product where the ending is missing and didn't even bother to fix it.
Guys, I really don't know what are you talking about. In my playthrough, there is some sort of ending + credits. After credits, it brings me back to the last boss place, and it is like free play from now on, or you can import the character to multiplayer mode.

Here is my video where I pointed it right after defeating the last boss. See what happens.

The reason, why you have it this way is because maybe you have DS installed without the expansion. To be honest, I never played DS without Aranna. Unfortunately, both steam and GOG versions do not include Legends of Aranna as far as I know, but I always use the Killah fix:

After applying the fix, the playtime is still working correctly, so no worries if you care about that because I have nearly 70h on steam.
