I got DK2 ages ago and I've had a lot of fun with it since I bought it.
I recently wanted to try playing it again but when I booted it up, the game got stuck at the beginning of the Bullfrog Logo. Pressing ESC, clicking or doing anything doesn't get it to skip. Tabbing out and back in is the only thing that gets the logo splash to play.
The menu works fine, no issues there, but when I start a game (be it single player or one of the pet dungeons) the in game FPS drops considerably. Buttons for things like the workshop or beds take forever to flip/fall onto the menu at the bottom of the screen, and the mouse takes forever to move to selections in the menu. I can Alt+F4 out of single player games and it quits just fine, but I can't do the same in any of the pet dungeons for some reason so it takes a while to get to the "Quit to Windows" button.
I've never had to use compatibility mode for this game, but I've tried every single one available to me, and the FPS issue doesn't disappear. On one of the XP modes, the fps is slightly better, but not how it's supposed to run.
Does anyone know the reason why DK2 is acting like this? I'm pretty sure I've played the game since I upgraded to Windows 10 ages ago but could Windows 10 be the cause of this issue? Would reinstalling it help or is this just a lost cause?
It's such a shame as well as this is one of my favourite games and I played it a lot when it originally came out so I would love to be able to play it again.
