hello i've looking for KeeperFX i found it with an tutorial also, i followed all steps and when im trying to launch the game a Window with CMD appears very quick and its closes and nothing happen! any solution? please i really like Bullfrog games, My OS is Windows 8.1 Pro



SOLUTION:

Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Turn Windows Features on or off -> Checkmark the Legacy Components (DirectPlay).

to fix error (0xc0000022)

Did you run it with the launcher.exe that comes with it? Which version of the game do you play?

Please share the log file that is generated.

If you use the launcher, it is easy: On the top left in the launcher there's a big button that says 'log file', which opens the log file.

Then the very first line of the log file shares the version number of the game.
The version number can also be found (like with most things out there) by right clicking the game executable (keeperfx.exe), selecting properties, and looking on the Details tab for 'Product version'.

Nice! but the log files empty o.O and it needs to create one i did and launch the game again but notthing happened on the Log file

Did you perhaps place your game somewhere the game doesn't have write access? What is the exact folder you've installed the game? (e.g. c:\'badnewgames\keeperfx\)
Make sure you don't place it somewhere like on your desktop. Try moving the entire KeeperFX folder to something like 'D:\games' and not programfiles and see if it runs.

When you've done that, run the game directly by running keeperfx.exe, at this point you really should get an updated keeperfx.log file in the same folder. Open it directly.

OK, should work. So open the folder there, run KeeperFX.exe directly. What happens? Do you have a log file now?

- Do you perhaps have a virusscanner active that might block unknown programs, like Avast? If so, restart pc, make sure the virus scanner isn't blocking it and try again.

- Try running keeperfx_hvlog.exe instead, does that work? Do you know have a keeperfx_hvlog.file?

- Run the launcher again, try setting the video driver to windib.

- You could also take a quick look at the troubleshooting section on the wiki. Especially the part about the DEP list.

- KeeperFX version 0.4.6.1783 is a nightly build( a patch), are you sure you've first installed the complete version from here before you patched it?

Good find. When I disable that component I get the same error message as you described. Your solution is listed in the FAQ.

I have the directplay problem as well but i cant turn it on, nor fix it is there any way to run it without directplay or am i just 100% unable to play this and i gotta reinstall it?

Reinstalling KeeperFX won't help. KeeperFX, like many games, uses DirectX and Microsoft has decided to stop supporting some parts that used to be part of DirectX. Those parts are required for the game, and enabling 'DirectPlay' is basically telling Windows that you still want to use them because your games require it.

Why can't you enable it?
