So i tried to make eduke32 work. I ran the program and it crashes and norton says its not safe. What do i do because i really want to get the high res pack to work!

Have you tried creating an exeption with Norton? Or perhaps disabling it entirely temporarily?

I did, and it still crashes!!

Try an older version of eDuke32. Some users have posted on here recently about how the latest version doesn't seem to work right (or at all). If I find the thread I'll add it to this post.

Okay, not sure I have the right thread but this one does mention about eDuke32 not being able to load save games:

The fix was rolling back to an earlier version. However, someone has posted since about version 3295 which works, so there may have been a newer version to fix the problem.
All I can suggest is that you try different versions of eDuke32 to see if any of them work for you.
