I'm able to download the file fine, but when I try booting the game, it goes to this black dos screen. It runs a couple of lines, and then it suddenly exits for some reason.

I tried following the steps for "Corrupt/Broken download" by clearing the browser cache, deleting temp files, and even doing that ping thing with cmd. The download is never interrupted (tried 3 times now, following 3 steps each download), and I'm not messing around with the files. What am I doing wrong?

I have Windows 7, so maybe that's the problem.

I had the same problem but then I used the compatibility mode and it's ok now.
You need to run the game as administrator (for example by holding ctrl+shift when starting it)

Ugh. I always forget this when I'm playing old games on a new OS. 'm used to using an old XP, Pentium 4.

Thanks for the idea
I have this problem, altough I just get a black screen and a blinking white line, and nothing else happens.
I've tried running it as administrator, and changing the graphics settings (read that in another topic) but nothing works.
I'm using vista, and have been able to play dosbox games before. The problem seems to be something with Gogwrap...
I can run the game through DOG (a user friendly dosbox interface), but would like not to have to go that way to play it...
Convert to eDuke!!
Set your Properties to 'Run as Administrator'

I've already tried this, and it doens't work. Don't know what the problem might be. And I don't want to convert to eDuke or run the high resolution pack, since I want to experience the good old Duke.

You can set eDuke to run Duke3D looking and feeling exactly like the DOS version.
