I'm getting intermittent crashing after a few minutes of play. It happens every time I play, and I haven't been able to determine why. I've upped the memory, killed the sound, and tried Eduke32, but I can't seem to stop it.
I've searched the net, and here, to no avail. It's not right when I do a specific thing, it's just after a few minutes of playing. I haven't timed it yet, but it's reasonably consistent.
I sure would love to get this running properly.
When it crashes, it just lands right back to desktop. There is a freeze, and then it crashes. No looping sound, it just stops. It's done it in the game, and even in the menu once, if I recall correctly.
I don't know what's going on, but I've just realized how fun this game actually is again, and it's bugging me to no end. You just can't progress like this.

Yes, I bought this game from GOG, downloaded, and installed it. I've done it a few times now, just in case.

No, I haven't contacted GOG. I thought it best to explore the issue a bit here before bothering them about it. There may be a simple solution to the issue, or a solution someone has come across in the past.
While I haven't found anything yet, I considered the possibility that a person with the issue might not have relayed it or asked for help. So, I came here. I'll be speaking with GOG shortly, but it made sense to ask for help first.

Hopefully now that full system details and DXDiag are present we might find someone who can assist with this.
My thoughts, however, are concerned that it's crashing in both DOSBox and in eDuke32, as they are different apps and with different game engines running the game.
Is anything else crashing after a short while?
You said you are using 64-bit Vista, so I'd be interested to know what folder location you've installed the game to.

The default installation folder was used, Program Files (x86), in the GOG directory as caused by the installer.
After that produced issues, I tried my own folder in that directory, with a fresh install. Seeing the issue again, I installed it simply in the root directory with a dukenukem3d folder.
So, it's been tried various ways.
None of my other GOG games that use DOSbox have these symptoms. Nothing on this machine ever crashes. It is rock-solid all the way round.

I have a different yet interresting crash report. However, one with a happier ending.

The game always crashes when run in 800*600, in other resolutions (sound and music both disabled and on) it runs just ok.

So I am satisfied after all.

So I have to admit I have been happy prematurely.

The game crashes at any VESA mod.
