EDIT: After digging into the game, this trick seems to work only for videos (called FMVs by the game), does not work for cinematics running with game engine. Will dig into this issue
Tried with French and working for me.
Of course it needs to be officially supported out of the box, meaning this tutorial is only useful for French, Italian and Spanish languages (Russian tested and not supported). You can find the list in the pcgamingwiki.com page of Driver Parallel Lines (#Localizations)
Compared GOG version with my original copy of the game with WinMerge, and I saw most of the files are exactly the same, except for text files (come to this later below), meaning that all listed languages are already supported :
- For audio, you just need to change the filed named `gameconfig.txt` in `Territory/Americas`, and change the `AUDIO` AND `LANGUAGE` parameters to the language you want (`FRENCH`, `ITALIAN` and `SPANISH` tested and working)
- For text, there are only one version of a file, so you need to overwrite the files with a language patch on the internet (for french, you can check "traductionsjeux.com"). I honestly don't care about the text, didn't tried myself but should work
@GOG, what are you waiting for supporting those languages officially?
