...there is an ocean or something where if you walk into it, the current takes you away and you die?

I remember playing a game, this looks a LOT like it, when I was little at my cousin's house where that happened.
Been lookin for it ever since..

I played Dragonsphere a whole lot and I don't recall it having a part like the one you're describing, but since by "ocean or something" you could mean a river, a pond, a lake or any extensive body of water, I can't be sure.

Nevertheless, if you're a fan of point and click adventures, you owe yourself a go at Dragonsphere, it's an awesome game, even if it isn't the same one you are thinking about. Plus, it's absolutely free, runs straight out-of-the-box, with no hassle, and it takes very little HDD space, so... you can't go wrong.

In Legend of Kyrandia there's a river that drags you away and kills you if you try to cross a destroyed bridge over it, right at the start of the game. I'm not sure if that is the game you were thinking about, though. Great title -- and series --, as well, but not free.

That sounds like something a King's Quest game would do, but surely that's too obvious a suggestion...

Hmm. Yeah I mean I might as well play Dragonsphere, the animations look great in videos.

I just remember you walk into this body of water and it says something about the current sweeping you off your feet, or something. And then you're in Hell...or surrounded by some scary looking people, but I feel like that last half was just how my tiny brain interpreted it at the time lol :P
