I've been using Daphne to play DL, now that this is out I'm considering buying it, but I'm concerned about the resolution on a modern monitor.

The native video is 1080p widescreen.

That's what I feared. Somebody should tell Digital Leisure that 4:3 HD is also possible? Why can't they make the video 4:3 and provide a choice to crop the video within the engine?

Actually, there is a 4:3 mode. It's simply further zoomed & cropped from the 16:9 video. There was an example screengrab in the release thread.
