The mouse smoothing is enough to make me nauseous and there doesn't seem to be a way to turn it off in the game options.

If a fix existed, PCGW would link to it, so that's a no.

Yes, unfortunately there is no way to turn off the mouse smoothing but you can raise the mouse sensitivity above the default max level by editing the config in the configuration folder.
