Hi everyone! :)
I'm hoping somebody here might be able to help me: I'm new around here, just bought DAO and installed it today through the GOG Galaxy Launcher.

Download finished, so I tried to start the Game and the Game Launcher (with Configure/Support/Uninstall options) DOES start, but when I press play I am stuck on the loading screen.
Tried to run it as administrator as well as in compatibility mode (XP and Vista), but that does nothing. :/
I even uninstalled and reinstalled the whole thing, still the same problem.

Did anyone here have the same/similar problem and knows how to fix this?

I downloaded and installed today also, with GOG Galaxy, and have had no issues. Straight Win 11 with no compatibility settings.

That happens to me with my Origin edition of the game. The issue is the use of multiple cores. However, this is already patched at GOG.

Downloaded today with GOG Galaxy, exact same problem as original poster.

Therefore I do not think this is patched and solved. How can I explicitly disable multiple cores?

Edit: Windows 10, after 1h trying to fix this with the config I give up. Still only the loading picture after the config tool (no matter what settings are entered there).

One of the best selling games of all time and you think everyone has that issue? Probably has to do with your setup.
I'd try verify/repair. If you think it's a core issue then go to task manager while in configuration, set affinity and just pick one core. If that works then you can look up how to make a shortcut that only uses the preferred core. Can also launch it without galaxy to see if it's an overlay issue.

Try to look up issues with DAO and your particular cpu/gpu to see if you can find any correlations.
Patch the game with the '4gb patch' (google it) and see if it helps. I'm using wine and there was no sound until I used this.
