Try to cap the FPS and limit it to 60fps.
Method #1 - NVidia Control Panel
- Go to NVidia Panel.
- Go to Manage 3D Settings.
- Go to Program Settings.
- Add Dragon Age Origins to your list.
- In the Max Framerate Section: cap the FPS to 60fps.
Method #2 - MSI Afternburner
- Use MSI Afterburner
- In the Riva Turner, click Add.
- Find the Dragon Age Origins file location and add it.
- Cap the FPS to 60fps in "Framerate Limit."
Side notes:
- You can use these tricks not just w/ DAO, but in any game, in general.
- You can really pick whatever cap you want, which suits you and your hardware.
- You don't have to limit the FPS count to 60fps; but 60fps is usually what's preferred by most PC gamers these days.
- A lot of older titles (late 90's to 2000's) were built around 30fps cap; you can always use that as a cap.
- So, if you are used to a certain FPS cap w/ older games...hey, go for it.
- So, when all else fails - i.e. things go wrong somewhere (with physics, animations, etc) just try the commonly-used FPS caps of 30fps, 60fps, 90fps, 120fps, 144fps, 240fps, etc etc. A lot of times, that can solve issues.
- These days, a lot of recent titles & games support whatever you want for FPS caps.
- Just make sure if you do higher FPS's (over 60fps), make sure your monitor's Hz in its refresh-rate supports those FPS's (make sure these Hz numbers & FPS match for its max on box; don't let FPS # go over its Hz rate)....or things can go wrong.
