I have noticed my character seems to have difficulty understanding my command to go up stairs when bad guys are there? He wants to stand there and think about it and then get killed! lol

I am at the stage of clearing the tombs.... but something went wrong.... what happened was a boss zombie vanished and i could not find it. Then when i did the next tomb the damn thing suddenly showed up with the second boss and now they are both at the bottom of the stairs with about 4 morons.

I actually managed to clear the 4 morons at one point and escaped back up the stairs but before i could do anything my character went back down again and died. That happened because i was clicking madly on the stairs trying to get the idiot to obey and when he eventually finally did decide to obey i was still clicking when he appeared at the top hahahaha

I will go back to an earlier save and make sure i kill that zombie before opening another tomb.... but meanwhile i still want to know what the hell is the problem with stairs when bad guys are there?

I don't recall that being an issue when I played, but didn't try using stairs/ladders as an escape mechanism.

There should be lots of room on that level to just run around to put some distance between your character and opponents. Burning wall is a good 'stop following me' spell (if you have a second to cast it and start moving), and used with good timing and coordination is excellent for crowds or even against bosses.
For a warrior, the passive Stun skill helps, though at low levels doesn't get triggered a lot.

Did the reload thing and found that zombie... problem solved.

I find everything chases me right back to the entry point... its normal i think for this style of game
I was getting massacred by those bouncing bombs in the next levels.

Mu character dousnt seem to want to respond in time to do anything about it..... i have noticed the game is quite laggy, especially walking around the town.... i think its lag causing these problems?

So i had those spare 20 extra points which i expected to vanish, but they did not! so i put them all onto fortitude so i could withstand the bouncing bombs despite lag... problem solved.

There is a sproing sound effect a second or two before they go off, which should normally give you enough time to get around a corner (walls, platforms, etc) or through a door to avoid them.

Most likely.

Windows 8 Performance "Patch" (works in Win 7 and 10, as well)

Windows 8 slow graphics problem fixed using WineD3D

It wasn't needed in Win 98/XP, and wasn't an issue with Win 7 when the download version was released on Steam and the GOG version updated.
