Hello!
I've been playing Divine Divinity for many days now, and I've spent lots of hours solving sidequests and similiar; but, after completing the primary quest at the Stormsfist Castle (the one that puts you in service of the duke kid, doing stupid errands), the duke counselor's stops me in the field and teleports me to a weeeeird map: almost every graphic its gone and only the floor and two orcs remain. Its like... the walls are missing or something. The fact is that I cant do anything; If I keep waiting a white cat appears and gives me a key... but I cant do anyrhing with it! (since there is no place to use it.
Ive already tried the solutions explained in other topics -reinstalling and put the compatibility mode on, and dont work for me ._.
Im using windows XP SP3 with a dual core amd processor. My graphical card its a HD 3870 ati.
I really loved this game, and Im pretty frustrated with this ._. If anyone can help, I'll be in his/her eternal debt :D

You are in Iona's Dungeon. I assume you are familiar with the fog of war and that moving around clears it away making more of your surroundings visible. Do you have a save prior to being transported that would allow you to retry the arrival?
A similar problem was fixed by setting the Compatibility mode to Windows 2000 for another person but you have tried that as well.
Have you updated your video drivers lately?
Also, on the start up screen, click Options, Video, Performance and turn ZTunnel off, 3D Shadows off, Fog off and try lowering the Quality setting one level.
You might try the AMD Dual Core Optimizer. I used it on my AMD laptop and it corrected some stutter problems with my Painkiller game. It has no user interface, installs and runs in the background and can be uninstalled from control panel. I have had no issues running it for several months.

Unfortunatelly, I've already tried all your solutions -I have the last update of my video card; Ive tried form several savegames prior to the critical point; I have put out all the graphical options, even combining them in different posibilities; and yes, I have already installed the dual core optimizer, since it helped me a lot with other bugs-problems with other games :)
By the way, yes, Im familiar with the fog of war. Funny enough, the map has some fog of war present, but is static; sometimes I manage myself through it and does not clear itself :S (as I said before, I think some graphics are missing; the minimap does not correspond with the actual area of gameplay). And yes, yes, as I read at some FAQS Im at Ionae's dungeon ^^

Yeah, that image is nothing like what the area should look like.
I don't know if it would help but you might try the link to RunFirst in this post. I use it with my DD install but for a sound problem. It sets the affinity to a single core and seems to help on some systems.
I see the mini-map is correct, did you try to use the key as if the cell door actually existed, even though it is not visible, it might unlock if you use the key in the appropriate location, i.e. left click the invisible door. Press the Alt key and see if the door becomes visible.
Also, did you try killing the Orcs with . . . say . . . Lightning for instance . . . just to see if the graphics would reset? (It looks like you still have your weapon)
You are also running the patched version as well? V1.005A bottom right corner of the start screen.
You might try using the ConfigTool.exe located in your DD install directory to set to another resolution. Sorry for all the edits, different possibilities come to me as I think about the problem . . . =) See the attached image. I believe 800 x 600 was the native resolution for the game.
I agree that there are textures missing and it may be the solution can be found in your video card settings. Since we know they exist and you have tried all normal solutions than changing a few settings for you video card may provide a fix . . . =)
Edit: It would be interesting to see, if you can move, if you can use the minimap to make your way to the exit as shown in the link to Iona's Dungeon since there is really nothing to do here but retrieve your equipment and go to the next level.

I have tried the Run First solution as described in the link (with the target labels and everything else). Nothing changed ._.
About the objects... yep, trying to kill the orcs acomplish anything; I mean, I can kill them if i get out of what -I guess- is the prison im locked in. After a while, the cat comes and do some spells on the orcish cadavres... and gives me the key. The problem is... well, the objects are not there ._.; by pressing the alt key nothing highlights, nor the door or the staircase on the west side. By the way, I manage to go to the staircase, but there is nothing there -i put the mouse cursor and nothing comes in light ._.

Ok, Ive tried all the resolutions that my monitor accepts... and nothing.
Ive spent some time trying options with the video card... but Im not able to get anywhere.
._.
Sigh. I even tried the game in my laptop, reinstalling the game with the gog installer... and I get the same weird screen! Maybe its an issue with the savegames? In that case, Im going to try every one of them. Ill post something when I finish.

DD has been know to corrupt game saves from time to time, especially before the patch. I got use to using the S key for all my saves instead of the quick save. I have not had a corrupted save so far. Sorry I have not helped, I will post here if I find a solution. Other community members may have a solution as well . . . =)
I thought it strange that your character appeared to have its equipment in the image you posted. When you show up there, you shouldn't have any equipment at all.
Edit: There has been two or three similar cases to yours in the last few days. I would be sure to open a help ticket with GOG support as well.

I need a solution to this problem. my stats do not seem to remain consistent. my strength and agility disappear and reset to lower levels. is this normal or is the game glitched? I can't increase my strength and agility to use better weapons. I am still using a stupid worn short sword due to low strength and agility. help.

Why necro a thread that's more than five years old? Make a new thread of your own, with a more sensible topic title.

Been a while since I played, but I think you need to accept the changes for them to actually become permanent. Look for a checkbox or something like that.
