awesome. thanks for making a new thread on this to have it stick out!
if anyone downloaded it yet, can you confirm whether or not the old saves work with this updated version? or do we have to start over?
either way would be fine with me actually.

I didn't download the older version; I've been patiently awaiting the update. I imagine that reports will be coming shortly.
Just finished DL'ing the new game files. The install worked without a hitch and did not delete any of my saved games. I'll post again later to say if they're working flawlessly and that the patch actually works. Thanks GOG for finally getting this patch out, although next time please don't release such a buggy version of a game.
Typical this game gets its update as soon as I start a new game of fallout. Now I'm torn weather to finish fallout or play this.
I can confirm that the patch seems to fix the problems that were present (at least the ones i've encountered) my old saves work just fine. the new version is 1.005A
Here are the problems that i had which i just tested:
*spoiler
- the monastery where the ghost attacks the monks resulting in spinning characters. this is fixed.
-further on in the game, back in the starter town when you encounter the witch and attack her the game would always crash preventing continuation of the game. this is now fixed.

Do both at the same time. :P

Well I do have 2 computers within reach of each other...
Between Myst, Fallout, Arcanum and Temple of Elemental Evil, I know how that goes all too well. I've got the Dark Fall: Pins and Needles set coming some time next week also.. NEED MOAR TIME.

I just downloaded the new file and ran it, but it only took 15 seconds for the install process and the game still says 1.004A. Any idea what I did wrong? I definitely ran the new install file (tried twice). I'll try downloading again but it takes like 4 hrs.

Same problem here and the version still has all the bugs in it (ARGGGGGGGGH)
Michagogi, did you download using the GOG downloader or html? Also, did you uninstall the older version first? When I get home tonight I will try uninstalling the older version first and try again.
GOG this is FAIL #2 what the heck have you been testing this thing for 2 weeks for if it doesn't even install no-hassle?????
Did you download using your web browser or the GOG.com downloader? I would hope that both delivery methods would pull from the same file..
I was about to ask about this, but I think I have an idea- delete your old Divine Divinity folder (but keep your savegames subfolder!) I ran the installer with the folder intact and it took about ten seconds (which is too fast); I'm trying it now having deleted the old DD folder.
Have you guys unistalled the game, keeping your saves, before installing the new version ?
I used the GOG downloader. I have now uninstalled the older version and am re-installing, will update shortly.
Edit: Ok, in order to install the upgrade you MUST uninstall the old version first (be sure to select the option to save your games). After this I can confirm that the spinning monks bug has now been fixed.
