It´s been a very long time since my last visit in Rivellon. As this wonderful gem of a game was released i bought it, and almost instantly fall in love with it. Unfortunately, the game never worked as it should be. What i mean is that i always had random CTD´s. Even the Larian Crew couldn´t help me. But nevertheless they did a great job by trying to solve my issues. Sadly, there was no working solution, and i never finished the game. Then i found out that gog sells this game, and i decided to give it a second chance. So i bought it once again. It´s not in my native language, but english is fine.
I´m not sure if the credits all go to the gog staff, but the game is working almost perfektly. I´ve played over 15 hours without any chrash. Brillant work guys, you´ve made an old fellow very happy :)
But there is one small annoying detail. And that´s the fast alternation of day and night. It switches very hard. I know that Larian has made this on purpose because some people had issues with the dawn and dusk effects.
So i searched the web, if there is a possibility to bring back the old and more atmospheric alternation of day and night to the game. Fortunately, i really found a working solution.
For everyone who wants to play with the smooth alternation of day and night and vice versa, follow these instructions:
Open the config.lcl file (in your Divine Divinity folder) and add the line "splotchproblem 0" to the end, hit enter (the game expects the last line to be blank) and save. When you start Divinity and load a save, the dawn/dusk effect should be restored.
