I bought it when it was first released on GoG, but it was broken. There were talks of a patch coming out, but I see the first page on this forum has threads talking about issues with the game, rather than the game itself.
Normally I would look into this more myself, but the website is going very slow tonight and I am tired and going to bed, so if anyone can tell me if:
1. The patch did get released on GoG.
2. Are there still a load of issues for many people, or are all these posts a bunch of isolated cases? If still many issues...
3. Is another patch in the works?

Yes, patch 1.005a came out a while back and yes it did solve the game breaking bugs people were having.
To get it you'll need to redowload the game as the patch was merged into the installer.
Make sure that you unistall the old version of the game if you have it installed before installing the new version.
